Caught with our pants down

by melynda Email

Well, not quite, but we had just put them on.

A couple weekends ago my family and I were soaking in the Boiling River in Yellowstone, as we like to do. It's a great way for the kids to get in a little activity before we plop them in the ski trailer for a couple hours. Plus, soaking in hot springs is one of the greatest treats in the world.

Follow up:

After we emerged from our soak, the Billings CBS affiliate news team approached us. They weren't so much a team as a woman with a video camera and a guy taking pictures, but you see my point. We were interviewed about why we like hot springs. I come across and kind of stupid (I'm a writer, not a speaker), but I am going to let you watch it anyway. Plus, my kids and husband look so cute!

You have to watch a short commercial first.

That was fantastic! I've never taken a dip in boiling hot springs (must start carrying bathing suit) It looks like a ton of fun!
And for the record, I don't think you sounded stupid at all - but you guys all looked pretty adorable indeed! =)

Hi Jess
You've spent some time in New Zealand, haven't you? It's known for hot springs, too, although I have no idea if they are safe or accessible for soaking. Hot springs are definitely worth seeking out!

We still haven't had the pleasure of experiencing these natural hot springs - determined to stop off and plunge this year! It looks like so much fun.

Came to see what you've been up to!...this is great! You sounded perfect and you and your family look cute! We haven't done the boiling river yet either, but after seeing this video clip, we'll be making a plan of it!

Great post and video Melynda! I linked to you from the Wayward Journey family. I was JUST talking with my husband about those strange tremors going on at Yellowstone right now. Those springs sure look refreshing! Will have to for sure make a trip out there.

Nice looking family!
Helen

That looks so relaxing. I've yet to experience a hot spring but your post definitely put it on my list of things to try.
