Honest Scrap and Kreativ Blogger
I have now been tagged twice for the Honest Scrap Award and once for the Kreativ Blogger Award, so it looks like I better get to it. They both ask you to list a few things about yourself that your readers may not know. I'm combining them for efficiency.
Thanks to the hilarious Jess at Wild Earth Integration, the venerable Bethe aka the Grass Stain Guru, and passionate Sara at Playa Minded.
Follow up:

1. I was the prom queen at my high school, which is funny because I was not prom queen material. I was not cute, skinny or popular. I was involved in Amnesty International and the environmental club and dressed like a hippie. I only agreed to go to prom because a bunch of friends were camping at the beach afterwords. Now, I wish I still had that tiara.
2. I love Diet Coke. I know it is terrible for me and I am not proud of my habit, but there you have it.
3. I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years, although I did start eating salmon about 5 years ago.
4. I was once attacked by a raccoon. That's not true, but I did fall into a blackberry bush, which left claw-like marks that I claimed came from a raccoon. It seemed cooler that way.
5. I love throwing myself into things where I am totally out of my element. Except blackberry bushes, I try to stay out of those.
6. I have three tattoos. I got one for my 18th birthday, one for my 19th birthday and one for my 20th. Then I thought I better stop for awhile. I kind of want another, but I don't know where or what. Plus, they hurt and my mom thinks I'm a "greaser".
7. I dream of packing my family up in an RV, traveling the continent and cross-country skiing or hiking almost every day. I'd tell you I love to ski and hike, but the purpose of this exercise is to share things you don't already know about me.
8. I consider myself to be hilarious, but doubt that anyone other than my boys would agree. That's ok, as long as I can crack myself up, I'm happy.
9. I always win when playing spoons. Always. (The game where you pass around cards and whoever gets four of the same first grabs a spoon off the table. There is one less spoon than players, so someone (not me) is eliminated after each round.)
10. I have been a cave guiding guide in California and West Virginia, led kayaking tours in Hawaii, taught cross-country skiing in CO, WY, MT and CA, been a Wilderness Ranger on the east side of the Sierras, taught environmental ed all over the place, led backpacking trips and guided natural history tours in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Now I write for money.
There you have it. I guess I should tag some other people...my apologies if you have already been tagged.

I have been seriously procrastinating on this, but I think I'm going to jot something down tonight (while munching on a fresh tangerine!).
