Painting in the rain...
…just painting in the rain. What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again.
Trail report
There are two ways to play this game: painting with the rain or painting in the rain. You choose. Or, go a little wild and try both. I dare you.
Get out! Even when the weather tempts you to stay in
Yesterday morning--and for the past few days--was raining. After a couple weeks of sunshine and warm temps, the return to winter is a little tough to swallow.
There's been a lot of complaining on some of the social networking sites I lurk around: Facebook, Twitter, ...I guess that's all. Complaints about snow and rain in June.
I was about to go down that road too, until I thought, "This is Montana, people!". Of course it's snowing in June. It always snows in June. Then I decided to embrace it.
Make a rain gauge
I don't know what May is like where you are, but here in southwest Montana it is rainy, sunny, snowy, sleety--sometimes all in the same day!
We've been getting a fair bit of rain lately, but I don't really know how much. I would know if I had measured it with a sweet homemade rain gauge.
April showers bring...play time!
This is one of those "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" kind of activities.
Since puddles are magnetic to kids anyway, dress them up and let them go crazy. With the right clothes and frame of mind, puddle pouncing can be a great way to burn off energy, have fun and very directly connect with the natural world.
